I did it for a couple of reasons. I started by using familiar language to coach, emphasizing transformation, but it didn't feel like me. And I have an Irish Setter named Finlay. He's sure of himself and full of charm and life. I wanted coaching to feel spirited like my dog, so thus the name. I appreciate that dogs don't hesitate to be who they are. Since coaching is about discovery and transformation, I thought a red dog symbolized what it's like to be authentic and live fully—An answer to this item.
While coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas. In contrast, life and leadership coaches concentrate on assisting individuals to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being and approach to work style and professional goals.
A discovery call is held to help the client and the coach determine if there's a good fit for establishing a coaching relationship. It's an opportunity for the client to share information about themselves and to learn more about my style, background, and credentials. For the coach, it's a chance to find out what the client is looking for and gain insight into their needs and background. After the call you can decide whether I'm the right coach for you, and I will determine whether to move forward with a coaching agreement and session plan.
Yes, every client I work with will have a formal agreement to review and sign based on our discovery session and your goals, my business practices, and International Coaching Federation (ICF) ethics and standards.
My approach to goal-setting is to help clients identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. I also work with clients to create an action plan and provide accountability to ensure they stay on track to achieve their goals.
My coaching sessions can vary in length, but typically last between 30 minutes to an hour. The frequency of sessions can also vary depending on the needs of the client.
Personalized coaching assists individuals in increasing self-awareness, developing new skills, creating a plan for achieving their goals, and overcoming obstacles that may hinder their success.
I work with clients from all walks of life committed to personal or professional growth and achieving their goals. Some of my clients seek career advancement, or figure how to manage a challenging situation or maximize an opportunity, while others want to improve their relationships or find greater fulfillment in life. My niche is helping women facing challenges or trying to figure out their career or life journey who need someone to listen and are willing to look deep inside for resolution and identify alignment.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance in my coaching practice. I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality.
As a strategic communication consultant, I have over 25 years of professional experience in external and internal communication and public relations leadership in the not-for-profit, healthcare, and beverage alcohol industries. I offer consulting and strategic communication services, which include external and internal communication, public relations, and improving your executive presence.
